After having two very different experiences with the birth of my children, I learned how amazing and empowering childbirth can be with enough knowledge and support. I want to help you find the birth experience you’re looking for. My personal journey and love of all things pregnancy and baby led me down the path to becoming a doula and childbirth educator. The information out there surrounding pregnancy and childbirth can be so overwhelming and I’m passionate about helping you navigate your way through all of that information.

We’ll work together to prepare you for childbirth with evidence-based, unbiased research which will help you thoughtfully devise a birth plan you feel confident in. There are lots of decisions surrounding childbirth and we will discuss all the choices you face as well as how to communicate with your provider so you can make the best informed decision for you and your baby. I will be there to comfort, encourage, and support you and your partner during the entire process.

My children are twelve and eight years old; I also have a bonus daughter who is fifteen. These people are crazy, amazing, and they keep me on my toes every day.

You took all of the stress and fear out of preparing for the birth of our son! You prepared me for a natural birth, supported me through establishing breastfeeding, and taught my husband how to be a crucial participant in labor. We were so grateful to have you come to our house in early labor and suggest positions and techniques to get things progressing. I couldn't imagine having succeeded with our birth plans without you experience and support.

Photography has been a part of my life for over 25 years. It seemed natural to bring those skills in to the birth space of clients who desired to have their birth documented. Once I started bringing my camera with me, I quickly realized that these are my favorite moments to document.

In my free time, I love…

Adventures with my family are my favorite thing!  We love going to the beach and music festivals. Merlefest has been a staple in my life for 24 years. It’s really one of my most favorite things in this whole world.

Orchids are my love language. (Is that weird?) I have approximately 25 orchids at my house and most of them have been brought back to life. I rescue them from the clearance rack… or a friend who is over it and convinced her plant baby has no life left.

Between my kids and welcoming babies…who actually has free time?

As a CAPPA certified labor doula, I’m able to fill an important role in providing emotional and physical support for you. I also focus my practice around sharing evidence-based informational support to you and your partner before and after the birth.
