doula

As a labor doula, I provide informational, physical, and emotional support to families during pregnancy, labor, birth and early postpartum. I also provide unbiased evidence-based information that will help you feel empowered and prepared during the decision making process. Together, we will prepare you with the knowledge you need to make informed, thoughtful decisions to develop your birth plan with confidence.

I’ve had a camera in my hand for decades, so bringing it with me into the birth space to capture these moments in time seemed natural to me.  Weaving together images and video clips to document your experience is one of the greatest honors of this job.

videography

Video just hits different.  It’s impossible to explain to you how precious a video of your birth will be until you are watching it.  Often, moms go so inward while they are in labor and have trouble remembering how things happened.  It’s so special to be able to return to those moments for years to come.

EVERY BIRTH PACKAGE INCLUDES

I’m a professionally trained childbirth assistant who helps a mother during pregnancy, throughout labor, and after birth to provide emotional, physical, and informational support. During pregnancy, I assist you with discovering your concerns and preferences about childbirth and provide evidence-based information about holistic and natural remedies to minor pregnancy discomforts. Together we’ll explore together different relaxation techniques and physical comfort measures to see what works best for you. You’ll also get:

  • Two prenatal visits to assess your needs and desires for birth, define and understand our expectations of one another, and provide you with useful tools for labor and birth.

  • An eight hour Informed Childbirth Education Class (click here for details).

  • Continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to you and your partner for the duration of labor and birth.

  • Initial breastfeeding support immediately after birth.

  • One postpartum follow-up visit to celebrate the birth of your baby and answer any questions you have during the early postpartum period.

  • Supporting you through birth is my top priority but I will find moments to pick up my camera and document this journey for you.

  • Two sneak peak photos in 48 hours for you to share with friends and family.

  • Your JPEG files will be delivered via private, online gallery within three weeks of your birth.

  • Videography can be added as an additional service

There aren’t enough words to express how thankful I am that Liza is a part of my story! It seemed like I had known her my entire life from the the first time we ever spoke. Liza is so kind, patient, and ready to serve. Before I had my son she was always available to discuss anything and everything. She was always checking in! When I called her on my way to the birth center she was calm and patient with me! During labor she gave wonderful suggestions, rubbed my back, and I didn’t even know she was using her camera! She is in her element and flows with the presence in the room! She cheered me on, encouraged me, and loved on me after! She truly is one of a kind. I wouldn’t trade anything for her friendship or her service! Thank you Liza for one of the greatest gifts, I’m so thankful to have these pictures and video to remind just how special it is to bring a child into this world!
